Halo’s Poser S1.6

Halo's Poser S 1.6

Merry Christmas! Let me start the day off with a Halo’s Poser update. It’s not quite as extensive as the last one, but it’s still poses.

  • Added and completed Halo’s Poser 21
  • Added and completed Halo’s Poser 22
  • Just like last time, there’s a normal version and a Poser Hotkeys version. You only need one. If you don’t use Poser Hotkeys, install the normal version.

Small note about quarterstaff poses. They were made for the Bo from the Aether Suite. Other quarterstaves should work fine, but maybe not perfectly.

    Here’s the download: Download

Excellent poser mod. Is there any way to keep the mod, but turn off the animations? I’m out of animations and want to shut the poser anims off for non-poser gameplay – and to try out some other anims.

      • Halofarm January 11, 2017 12:00 am  Reply

Not really. You have to uninstall it if you want FNIS not to detect the mod.

    8. Skybail January 11, 2017 1:01 am  Reply

That stinks. Don’t really want to uninstall your mod, but will if that’s the only way. I read your readme and extrareadme txt files, but didn’t see any uninstall info. Likely pretty straightforward, but what should I delete and is there some specific order to uninstalling the Data folder files, .esp, etc?

      • Halofarm January 11, 2017 8:40 pm  Reply

You’d be better off doing that job with some sort of mod organiser than manually. Otherwise, look inside the download folder and see what files were installed.

I’m loving this mod. If anyone is interested it can be made to run on Skyrim Special Edition. It takes a bit of fussing and a manual install, but it seems to be working fine except for the “beach” ring, which seems to crash the game.

      • Halofarm January 15, 2017 3:31 pm  Reply

Are you manually installing? If you’re installing with NMM it won’t work, because it has 2 versions in the folder now. It needs to be manually installed, or installed with a mod organiser that actually recognises the structure, like Wrye or MO.

See my response above. Also, if you installed the “Poser Hotkeys Version” and you’re not using Poser Hotkeys, that’s your issue. If you don’t use Poser Hotkeys, you just install the normal version.

yes im manually installing,i used the normal version but nothing ,i have used older versions before and they worked fine

      • Halofarm January 16, 2017 1:21 am  Reply

All I can tell you is that the mod definitely works. I know dozens of people using it, so there has to either be some problem with your mod manager or something went wrong with the install. There’s not much else, since to my knowledge, nothing conflicts with HP.

      Hey Halo,

Happy New Year and hope all is good.

So after my 3ds Max 2012 (that was compatible with Havok Content Tools – no longer available) expired, I picked up Blender.

I had already been animating with 3ds Max for years so I am not looking for a tutorial from you (lol no worries).

I was just wondering which rig you are using. Are you using “Animation Tools N3″?

I ask because his rig/tools doesn’t seem to give that much “liberty” for posing.

shoot me an email if you need to @ ohouseofcapuleto@gmail.com or reply here.

      Whatever is easier, thanks.

      • Halofarm January 19, 2017 5:52 pm  Reply

I still use blender 2.49b, rather than blender 2.7. I don’t really know anything about the various tools for 2.7.

        • Djekmiami January 19, 2017 6:43 pm  Reply

Okay, so which rig do you use for your version?

          • Halofarm January 20, 2017 2:56 am  Reply

It’s not a specific rig. I just use some stuff I imported personally. You can find tutorials on how to import stuff into blender 2.49b. You just have to import the body of your choice and then a skeleton to go with it.

Great, thanks for the info. I’ll look it up man,

Hi, i would like to know if there are lighter version of the Halo poser mod? every versions of the mod i am trying makes me go ver my 8000 fnis anim limit, as i have a couples of animation mods ect, and i would prefer to avoid using the 12000 anim fnis version. (I am currently at 5746 anims registered in fnis)

      • Halofarm January 25, 2017 7:36 pm  Reply

There isn’t. I keep it all as one big mod by request. If you want to cut it down, you could cut out the pinup poser behavior file and anims. The rings will still be in the esp and useless in-game , but that’ll cut down your FNIS usage.

Ow, thats nice, it worked great, thank you Halo :]

      Good morning,

I installed your poser and gomapero and I thank you both for the big work, there are so many interesting poses.

I have both set of rings (inventory and power) however only player rings work. No way to pose an NPC with both mods. The player poses perfectly with all sets and with both mods.

I need poses mainly for NPCs.

Manual installation, FNIS activation etc. everything is OK. I read twice the short readme, but no mention of how to “activate” an NPC, not its set of ring that I know they reside in power menu. When I use the power rings nothing happens. As a matter of fact how does the program recognize the NPC?

I noticed that both set of scripts are identical, dates too, probably this is why none of them work with NPCs.

I have already used many poses mods and they all have a way to identify the NPC, what is yours?

I tried everything, even when I’m close to the NPC (to initiate dialogues) nothing happens.

Worst doubt… and how to select 2 or 3 NPCs for the other sets, or the Player and 1 or 2 NPCs?

Last question, jumping resets the pose for the player and how should I eventually reset the NPC? Should I disable/enable…?

I really liked the poses you have and I would be able to make it work, so I would really appreciate a clarification on these points thank you.

      • Halofarm February 15, 2017 4:27 pm  Reply

Did you check your powers menu? The NPC posing is done by powers, not by rings. Use different powers to use different pose sets. Using the power again should unpose them. Might take a couple of goes. Sometimes it just re-poses them for some reason.

You might find it easier to use a mod like Poser Hotkeys, if you want to pose a lot of NPCs. It’s ideal for that.

        • Elena February 15, 2017 9:32 pm  Reply

          Hello again,

Thank for your quick reply. Maybe there is a terms misunderstanding.
I used the word “ring” because in your note you refer to them as “ring pairs”.
The power menu is where you have shouts and spells this is where you mean?

Well, I have these rings in the inventory all are called zz… almost 100 and in the “spells” menu still with zz… around 60 more or less.

I activate the select ring from the inventory and the play ring for the player, still from the inventory and everything works fine.

When I activate the select ring from the inventory and the play ring from the power/spells menu nothing happens.

Am I doing right or simply I didn’t understood where to go, Please let me know.

          Kind regards

          • Halofarm February 16, 2017 9:33 am  Reply

You use the select ring to choose your pose, then you get up close to the NPC equip the power and activate it on them using the shout button. If you have the power, and the rings work for the player, the power works. There’s not a conflict or a missing script, because the power uses the same scripts.

As I said before though, if you’re posing NPCs, you should find it much easier and less time consuming to use Poser Hotkeys, which you can find on the nexus.

            • Elena February 16, 2017 8:40 pm

              Hello again,

Thanks for your clarification, the key word was the shout, I haven’t imagined about that, now everything is working fine. Thank s again for your support.

Just one question re versions. I took Halo’s poser 1.6 I suppose this the last one? I’m asking this because I’ve seen ver. 2.2 and 2.5 but the dates are older.

And all Pinup poses are included in 1.6 or should I check some older versions? Let me know, thank you.

              All the best

          • Halofarm February 16, 2017 9:22 pm  Reply

It’s probably a bit confusing because I tend to mess around with the numbers. Originally Halo’s Poser and Pinup Poser were separate mods. Halo’s Poser reached 2.x numbers (I don’t remember how far) but then I merged the 2 mods, and it became Halo’s Poser S. Halo’s Poser S1.6 is the latest. The latest version of Halo’s Poser will always be linked in the menu bar of the blog, so that’s how you’ll know the most recent version. It’s there, along with the version number.

      Hello again,

…I forgot the good manners. You wished Merry Xmas to all, but at that time I wasn’t there, so now I wish you a Happy New Year even if a little bit late, but it’s the thought that counts.

      I have other two questions:
1 – On pair poses groups 2 and 3 the SKUI ribbon is wider than the screen and you can’t go back clicking on return. Do you know a way to narrow it in game or through an ini setting?

2 – Pressing NumPad key 7 opens one of your menus and this conflicts with Jaxons positioner in trying to rotate an object. Do you use other keys by the way? Is there a way to disable/enable these keys in some way or a different solution?

      Let me know, thank you.

      • Halofarm February 22, 2017 10:39 pm  Reply

1: If the pair poses are going off-screen for you, then you must be using a 4:3 or 5:4 format screen. The mod was made on a 16:9 screen, so I wasn’t aware of that issue. Once again, Poser Hotkeys would be my recommended solution.

2: NumPad key 7 is, by default, a hotkey button just like any other NumPad key. Jaxxonz being keybound to standard hotkeys is Jaxxonz positioner conflicting with vanilla keyboard layouts. It’s not my mod doing the conflicting. However, you can make it so the game does not use the numpad keys as hotkeys.
You can, however, mod the vanilla controls to not use the numpad as hotkeys by putting this into your game: http://puu.sh/uflRs/74e6a28c3f.7z

      Hi Halo,

I have just converted this to SSE, with the nifs, form change to 44 etc. I’m sure I read somewhere that you expressed a lack of interest in SE at this point, I presume that would extend to you not wanting to host any conversion here so you don’t have to support it. Would you object to my sharing it with the LL community, as I did with PeroPero’s?

      • Halofarm February 22, 2017 10:40 pm  Reply

You can do as you wish with the mod, yes, just as long as people know that they can’t come to me for help. Though I would ask you keep my free to reupload permissons intact, since LL only allows registered users to use their download service.

When using pair poses or combined single poses between NPC and the player, to get to the right position I have to use the TCL command, this is fine.

However in these situations the camera has a limited range or view (depending on poses). TCF is perfect for this, but unfortunately I noticed that using TFC command my character moves away from the NPC as if TFC cancels TCL command in the close area.

I checked in the ini files if there is a sort of override to that, but wasn’t able to find.

Do you have any idea on how to avoid this problem. I’d really appreciate your comment, thank you.

Hi Halo, thanks for the update.

Small bug report, most (or all?) poses from Object Poses #1 are using a panty mesh instead of whatever else they should have.
Even the panty poses have the panty in the wrong place.

Other object poses (Beach, Objects #2) are working as intended.

Just in case, i’m using FNIS 5 and XMPSE 2 since their latest major updates are causing that TFC bug.

      • Halofarm March 5, 2017 2:36 am  Reply

This is most likely a bug to do with XPMSE’s esp. That’s always been the cause of the panty bug in the past. Put Halo’s Poser below XPMSE’s esp, or test it with XPMSE’s esp off. See if that fixes it.

Getting some great shots in your My Apartment Aether Suite location in the shows generated from the “window” side of that room – excellent mods, Halofarm.

One question – I read your extra readmes and couldn’t find an answer, but when I use your object poses, some work and others have the object appear behind the player and I see the same thing with a few GomaPero object poses – any idea how to correct this? Thanks.

      • Halofarm September 9, 2017 11:48 pm  Reply

If you’re using XPMSE.esp, that might be the cause, otherwise, I’m really not sure.

        • Mastragon September 14, 2017 5:38 pm  Reply

Yes – using XP32 SME v3.94 by Groovtama. Do you recommend using something other than XP32 SME? I currently also see some funky joint issues around the shoulders when arms are raised and right below the knee for certain poses. The upper calf looks pinched below the knew and upper calf is a bit blocky looking. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

          • Halofarm September 14, 2017 7:54 pm  Reply

No, but XPMSE’s esp can affect object poses. If you alter your load order so my poser is after XPMSE.esp, that should fix it. Regarding the “funky joint issues” have you read the readmes? Because I explain in the readmes that depending on the body you use, you will see warping. In fact, you will see warping in any body. There’s no such thing as perfection with poses.

    26. Mastragon September 14, 2017 9:05 pm  Reply

Using 7B bombshell and Fair Skin Complexion. It’s not a big deal – I’m still amazed at how lifelike & “real” you can make shots look with the right lighting, ENB, body and skin. I don’t mess with overlays much, but that likely would add another level – again, with the right combination. At the end of the day – it’s just a game, but a far cry from what was possible ten years ago. As I said – I really like shots with the shadows you have in the Aether Suite. Those add to the realism.

You and GomaPero have some great places for screenshots as well as all of your amazing variety of poses. I wanted to ask how you go about getting good lighting. I’ve tried turning Facelight on or off and using your and GomaPero’s well-placed lighting sources, but often the face is either too dark and the eyes have too much shadow or there is too much light and things are more washed out.

      • Halofarm November 25, 2017 9:12 am  Reply

Well, I just use my light sources. I guess it’s mostly ENB calibration. The eyes having too much shadow though, an issue a lot of people have, is about 50% due to bad normal maps on eyes. I highly recommend you look into normal maps from something like fair skin, or just putting in some blank, flat normal maps. Bethesda’s vanilla ones, and a lot of the replacers, do anything from inverting the light as it hits the eye, to just making a big fat shadow. It’s kind of silly because Bethesda at least, you’d think would have realised their own normal maps were broken.
