Aether Suite 0.2.5 – Undercity – Again

Okay, so, after having some people test the new areas of the mod, I released it, and then this morning, one of my friends discovered some missing textures, which I assumed were corrupt somehow. Turns out they were, because BSA archives have a 2.1gb file size limit. Great.

FROM NOW ON THE AETHER SUITE WILL CONTAIN LOOSE FILES AND NOT A BSA. It’s just easier that way.

FOR ANYONE WHO DOWNLOADED YESTERDAY’S UPDATE, DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THIS ONE INSTEAD.

ANYONE UPDATING FROM ANY PREVIOUS VERSIONS, INCLUDING YESTERDAY’S RELEASE, BE SURE TO DELETE THE “AETHER SUITE.BSA” FILE FROM YOUR DATA FOLDER.

    Your mod is just fu**ing great! Now all my imperial needs is a scifi white collared suit and an armored spacesuit (which he will have, as soon as i understand how to create armors that doesn’t CTD my game every time I change ring or amulet…..) However I found a very very very little bug: in the room of the radio with a man’s spirit in it, the chair (sorry, my english vocabulary isn’t very furnished) is clipping throught it. Other than that, FU**ING great mod!

      That’s a problem with a lot of custom height furniture. It seems to not be reading the correct positions from the nif, so I’m afraid I don’t know how to fix it.

    Also Halo for the skyrim academy is there anyway you are gonna upgrade it more in the future? I love the Persona feel to it and im still trying to figure out how to mod myself, but having npcs and such walking around wearing school uniforms ect, would be nice as well. I dunno its my favorite place to run around in next to the Wet Room :D

      I DO hope to get back to adding stuff to it in future, but NPCs aren’t really on the plan. I don’t like making NPCs, because no matter how good you think you make them, someone always thinks they’re ugly. Not to mention, I don’t really want to have to use assets made by someone else, and I would never be able to make a nice skin texture set to use.

    Halo if your using racemenu 3.0 (IE the latest one) I make dozens of female characters (good sexy looking ones, not ones that look like rough as shit lesbians) I could give you the NIF/DSS files as that’s all you need really. When you try to add them via MASK it tells you what other mods you need to get the character to look how its supposed to look. either that or I could just TELL you what mods were used. Its an idea either way as I think having a teacher, swimming instructor etc would be a good idea for NPCs

      I think you missed the point entirely there. Everyone has an opinion on what is or isn’t good looking or sexy, and not everyone agrees. I do not want to add NPCs to the mod. It’s not a matter of IF I can and what I need.

    Could it be possible to use multiple BSAs instead of using loose files?

      Yes, it’s possible, but I don’t want to do that. Using the loose files doesn’t increase the file size on disc, because the bsas weren’t compressed anyway. There’s really nothing to gain from it except for making a very slight bit easier to uninstall.

        Oh, i was mainly worried about the file size, since my internet connection is shit, but if the files weren’t compressed before then there’s no problem.

          Ah. The mod is actually a smaller download now. Since the bsa packaging has been stripped down, it compresses into a zip file even better.

    I just downloaded and tried out the mod last night and…wow, it’s impressive and awesome :-) A ‘modern’ version of Duke City from Oblivion. The futuristic feeling of it reminded me of that.
    I haven’t explored it all yet. The “radio guy” was funny with a flashback to Fallout 3!
    The scrolling messages are great, as is the voice in the streets. It’s eerie. Being so devoid of life I get the impression people are either hiding away indoors or the whole place was evacuated.
    NPC’s would be nice (for the bars) but it’s better without them. Makes you wonder what happened to them. Like the Dwemer, lol. Where did they go, if they were really there at all.
    Impressive mod, awesome work you’ve done with it. I’ll definitely be keeping up with any updates :-)
