Monthly Archives: March 2013

So, casually browsing the internet today, I found myself straying into a google search of Pinup Poser, out of curiosity. I don’t remember where it was, but I ran into a comment relating to the PUPEX series detailing that there were more “sexy time” poses, but “still some useful poses”. I have to say that irked me. It’s funny how those little things can get to you. One off hand comment pulls the whole thing into question.

I got to thinking about the progress of Pinup Poser since those early pre-1.0 poses, and the earlier nexus releases. As time has gone on, the Pinup Poser series has sort of mutated. At the beginning the poses were so neutral, because I didn’t really understand the Skyrim skeleton yet. (more…)

One thing I’ve discovered after all this posing is that it gets progressively more difficult to make pose sets. At the beginning, the process was easy enough. I mean, there was no such thing as a pose mod for Skyrim when I started out, so I had a completely blank slate to work with. (more…)

And the posing continues. I don’t know if any of you keep eyes on the mod track page, but anyone who does, might have noticed I also began work on Dramatic Poser. I don’t really know what poses I’m making for it. It’s a bit random. Just stuff I imagine having some kind of sad music, or fight scene music behind it. That kind of crap.

Anyway, being as I have a blog now and I can just keep you guys up to date periodically, anyone interested can go ahead and download the link below.

Once again, this WILL NOT WORK without the main package installed, and since this is a new poser alpha as well as a PUPEX3 update, remember to run FNIS before loading it up.

Lastly, PUPEX3 is now up to number 200. DPoser is only up to episode 6. Don’t start leaving comments about missing poses.

Enjoy your alpha!

So, sometimes I just get those random urges to do thing. In this case, I started working on the Pinups portion of the poser collection again. Something about sexy poses that I find hard to resist. Go figure.

Warning for nudity after the break. (more…)

Since I moved my mods off of the nexus, some weeks ago now, I’ve seen a gradual build up of assumption and misinformation relating to the subject. Aside from the fact that I didn’t even realise it was a subject worth talking about, I’ve noticed a great deal of the things I’ve seen are wrong.

Part of that is my own fault, since my opening post here seems to have given the impression somewhat that I had “ragequit” the nexus. This is not the case.

I was pretty content to ignore the matter, but I was recently linked to this little gem:

In the link I noted that the mod who issued this warning was under the impression that the user in question a: didn’t have permission to upload my files and b: I have expressly forbidden the uploading of my files to the nexus. Neither of these things are true.

First, I’ll say that this is my current, and likely permanent permissions message:

You have my full permission to reuse any part of my original material in your own mods. You also have my full permission to redistribute and reupload my mods. Just make sure you give me credit.

Also, and this part is very important: YOU MAY DISREGARD ANY NOTE IN MY READMES PROHIBITING UPLOAD TO SKYRIM NEXUS. You ARE ALLOWED to upload mods to Skyrim nexus, no matter what the mod is. I would, however, recommend caution in your choices, since some mods may contain things which can’t be uploaded there due to nexus rules, and not my own distribution permissions.

And for further clarification, that message means you can upload any version of any mod I have made, and I will not take issue with it. Once it’s on your PC, it’s yours to do with as you will. All I ask is a little credit.

On top of all of that, orkreload even asked permission personally.

Outside of that, I wanted to clear up some things about why I made my own mod blog. My first post here was mostly meant in a light hearted tone. I didn’t ragequit the nexus in any way. I simply decided to move my mods and all my work to a single repository. The reason for this is that I have a large number of mods, and I was only able to host a portion of them on the nexus, and I also didn’t keep them all up to date, for one reason or another. I felt the urge to consolidate all my work in one single place, where rules and regulations didn’t inhibit my choice of files to upload.

Finally, relating to loremongering etc. while it did contribute to my choice to move to an out of the way blog, it was more to avoid unnecessary confrontations. As I said in my first post here, if someone has come to this blog, it’s because they want to look at my mods, and not because my mods got in the way of their browsing pleasure. It seemed like the ideal solution to all my issues, and that’s what instigated the move.

Hopefully, for anyone who was unsure, or who had misunderstood my reasons, this will clear some things up, and will also prevent unwarranted punishment on the nexus, in future.

And now that srsfaec post is done, I will go and mod something!

Having a chat with a regular visitor today, I decided, after a year of constant tweaking, it was about time I released my ENB. I’m very happy with it in its current form.

For those of you who might be wanting an ENB to use as you play, my ENB is not for you. My ENB is designed primarily for taking nice screenshots. The night and overcast weather are both quite dark. Most effects are turned up to their highest filter quality. It’s not optimised for speed. It’s just meant to take a nice picture.

If you don’t like how it looks, or how it performs, you can most certainly feel free to change to something else, but please don’t tell me how crap you think it looks, or how you think I could improve it. I’m not interested. It looks how I want it to look.

If you DO like how it looks, then I’m glad I could provide you with something which suits your tastes too, and I hope you enjoy it.

Download removed. File outdated and deleted.

…just sometimes, it’s all worth while.

That, friends, is the Velvet Room. It’s velvety, and roomlike.

It’s also blue.

And did I mention velvety?

All right, so when I am working really hard on something, my estimates of time tend to be a little longer than things actually take, because I fail at taking breaks.

So here is Skyrim Academy v0.7, and this update is a pretty massive one.

Here’s a small list of SOME of the things that have been added with the 0.1 increase:

  • Added the bases for a couple of new areas. Nothing much yet, but the club building and the sports hall now exist.
  • This one should have been in the update notes for the last update, as well as this one, but added background music for all areas. Different areas have different tracks. I forgot to credit it in the readme, but all the music comes from the Persona 5 Fan OST.  If you like the tracks, you can listen to the whole massive compilation of music here:
  • FINISHED the main school building, including a main gate with some pretty LOD and some dirty little secrets which you can read about in the full changelog in the readme.
  • Did all kinds of optimisation, such as decreasing the number of shadow casters in the maps. This should pull some extra FPS for some, at the expense of a little realism.
  • Combined the .esp/.esm pair into one single .esp, and packed files into a compressed .bsa. This means the mod is now easier to install, and takes up 1/3 of the space on your hard drive. On top of that, I will be using the .bsa format from now on, so the mod will be simple to upgrade to future versions. HOWEVER, PLEASE READ THE UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS. They’re important this time.
  • You now get a spell to take you to the school, and can fast travel out of the main building, so no more developer console like a beta tester.
  • Lots of other little fixes, improvements and just general better-than-the-last-version-ness.

I also just wanted to take a moment this time around to offer a thanks to Higeyoshi. I’m sure some of you have seen his classroom studio mod. It was that mod which, in part, inspired this mod.

Here’s the download link, and I hope you all enjoy the update:

I don’t know when the next update will be, since I intend to take a little break from all this modding, but you can expect it sooner, rather than later.
